As of April 1st, 2018, new cars in the EU will have to have installed a system called eCall for emergency self-first-aid organizing. These small industrial cell phone boxes are self-powered by batteries to avoid being cut of by a car crash. Its actual unclear if the UICCs are inserted by tray or soldered by eUICC.

On the other side more and more cars are connected and phone-home predictive maintenance or geopersonal data to their manufacturers.

Who did run an overview in the EU about cars and their connected data flows running either for car services or eCall systems (E112).

Thank you in advance.

Who knows where in the BMW cars the eCall function is integrated and physically located?
