Are you sufe there isnt an active OST that mirrors the server? If its an exchange client it likely isnt going straight to a PST. You dont mention if its using exchange or POP or something along those lines.

Hi,

Its a POP account so an ost is not applicable. Using PhotoRec I have recovered a .pst file over 1GB, I think this may be it so I am in the process of running scanpst on it.

Can anyone explain how deleting emails in a .pst file would lead to a new .pst file being created, this doesnt seem to make sense as the original .pst is still in place??

Thanks

It wouldnt. Maybe more than one pst was mounted in outlook so the messages were deleted from a different pst then first thought.

Result!!

I finally got all of them recovered, in case it is of use to anyone else the steps I followed were
1. PhotoRec to recover deleted .pst
2. Found 15 x .pst files
3. Corrupted all of them via 0x20 insertion in header
4. Ran through scanpst.exe to repair
5. Examined with Email Examiner
6. Eventually found correct .pst

Thanks for all the help…

Hi
I think you can use some recovery tools to recover your deleted mails.
You can visited http//www.datanumen.com/aor/problems/outlook-deleted.htm to know more about the deleted mail and how to recover them.

Good luck wink
Julie
