Hello all,

this thread is actually aimed at all devices using eMMC storage. It is actually very simple, based on the latest JEDEC standards (v 4.41 JEDEC eMMC v4.41) it appears that TRIM (TRIM wiki), Secure TRIM, Erase and Secure erase commands should be available for embedded storage following these standards.

Now, based on recent findings, TRIM makes Flash forensics extremely challenging since file recovery is nearly impossible following a TRIM command execution.

My question is, what does this mean for the future of mobile forensics? Have any of you experienced newer models of smart phones that deleted data in a forensically sound manner?
