Clicking the ? at the top right (or F1) and selecting help takes you to this URL.

Any use?

I agree with the statement "no one product does everything". However, EnCase 8 seems even more of a mess to find the data I'm looking for than EnCase 7. For down and dirty PC forensics I've found X-Ways to much more efficient. Categorizing artifacts like Internet history etc is well done by IEF. AXIOM is still terribly slow. FTK doesn't get me to the down and dirty when I need to see or report on it like X-Ways and EnCase 6/7 can. Just my opinion.

For mobile forensics, IEF/AXIOM just doesn't handle the data as well as Oxygen, XRY and others. It's a mixed bag no matter what. It all depends on the current case work needs.

I've used anywhere from 2 to 5 different tools to verify the findings and get all the information required.

In conclusion, yes, EnCase 8 sure seems to be a mess -)

Don't like the way they call the button with three horizontal bars the hamburger menu either, sounds rather unprofessional.

FWIW, just wanted to note that "Hamburger Menu" or "Hamburger Button" is actually the name that the UX Design community uses for that interface construct, e.g., see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamburger_button .
