Hi there
I know this might seem like a silly question, but are there any discounts offered on Encase/FTK software for major initiatives and research and development in a company?
We'd like to try the software first, to see which one we prefer.
Thanks & Regards,
Laura
I'd suggest giving them a call. Then you'd get a proper definitive answer as opposed to the 'probably or probably not' on here 😉

Not likely if you are developing a competing product. 8)
Laura,
Just a suggestion - why not phone or set up a visit to a forensics unit with one or preferably both applications and see what they think.
I know if you were to poll our unit you would find that we all have our own views on the relative strengths and weaknesses of the various forensics apps.
I suspect it would be a lower cost option than evaluating it for yourself. Trialling the software always leaves you with the nagging doubt that you aren't getting full leverage because you don't know the software that well and the learning curve on some of them can be quite steep.

There also is a lot of discussion around here about the different products and their relative strengths and weaknesses. Recently, one of our new members asked what we would buy if we were spending our own money. It ended up at times being commentary about specific products and why they were preferred.
