I'm examining a machine that used Windows XP Professional.

The user had the language set to Spanish.

Is there a way to convert the files in EnCase to English so I can understand what folders I'm looking at.

I only need the folders put back in English?

The files and folders are actually named in that other language. They are not named in English and translated on the fly or something. There is no easy way to make them all appear in a different language to the source that I know of.

I once examined a stolen computer where everything was in Kanji. Now that was fun. I learned how to translate the character to the phonetic value which enabled me to discover the English version of the name of the registered owner. I nailed it, and we were able to return the laptop to the rightful owner, who was a Japanese uni student.
