Thanks, but I still don't see the icon in there. I am using EnCase v. 6.12 so I don't know if it is a new symbol or what. I find it weird that there is nothing located within these folders. THe symbol looks like the volume/logical device symbol with a small yellow box on the left side of it. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am tempted to say - RTFM!

But I won't.

My guess is you are referring the icon for a Symbolic Link, sometimes referred to as a Reparse Point.

Depending how you have your panes configured, you will find a column, usually way over on the right hand side which will identify the location that the link points to.

Your first Vista examination??????

They are flagging that the 'directory' is a junction point. In Encase they show as empty files and you can't drill down into the 'folder' but if you look at them in Winhex you can see some more information.
