Not used this software before, but I notice when I setup a new case, and when I go

Add Device > Local Drives it only picks up my floppy disc drive, and not my CD drive.

Any ideas why?

Is there anything in the CD drive?
If you can see it in Windows Explorer then it's EnCase fault.

As Nik says if something else can see it then EnCase is faulty but if for example it's a scratched disc then it won't show it because EnCase can't read it.

Noticed some of the .ini files arent where the tools > options > storage paths are pointing to.

I just double checked on my system which has 2 drives and Encase doesn't show the drive unless a Disk is inside it.
If you cant see it and the disk is inside then I'd check the disk then maybe swap the drive to eliminate the problem.

Hmm could be the setup then, because my EnCase shows an A even if there is something in it. But nothing for the DVD drive (
