Hi all,

I recently purchased a small quantity of 'encase forensic version 6 corperate' software packages. They were still sealed but I opened them to check and there was no dongle. There is however a transition guide (V5-v6), therefore am I right in saying no dongle is required as the V5 user dongle would be used.

Any help appreciated.

Without a dongle there useless, the transition guide is for "getting to terms" with the changes from ver 5 to Ver 6.

dont know where you got them form, but if you can get your money back go do it

Thanks fore reply,

Its strange though as the packages were sealed and the only cable inside was an ethernet one. I was under the impression that they were upgrade for version 5 people?

Thanks

Sort of, those boxes on their own are basically nothing, ie buying them is pretty worthless unless you like the pdf manual printed, and a spare yellow network cable (we got sent a load a while after V6 came out, and theyve mostly been in a cupboard since).
A V6 upgrade licence with registered with Guidance, means you can fill out the web form, with your V5 dongle number and you'll get a cert file for V6 to enable it. (although im guessing if this was the case you'd already have that info)
If its an ebay job - looks like someones taking you for a ride.
