So I've tried to use TrueCrpyt to encrypt my hard drive however it took a long time to do so, and it will only work on the workstation i encrypted it with.
i need something fast and can use it on any computers, so i can store confidential data.
What do you guys recommend?
I bought the WD security , however it only works for windows, its great as it uses hardware encryption, takes no time to decrypt. but it doesn't work on windows!

Can you explain how you did this? Do you mean encrypting your system partition/drive or encrypting a non-system partition/drive?
In either case you should be able to transplant the drive into another workstation and boot from it (with the relevant credentials) or mount it (with the relevant credentials) respectively without any issues. The encryption isn't tied to the workstation.
I've found that TrueCrypt is a good solution in most situations it's free, open-source, and cross-platform. Of course, it does lack some management functions that are desirable in a large enterprise environment.

I want to encrypt an external hard-drive, so that i can decrypt it using my mac or windows at anytime to access back my data.
How is that possible?
1. Install TrueCrypt on Windows PC.
2. Install TrueCrypt on Mac.
3. EnCrypt External HDD uysing TrueCrypt.
4. Profit..?
If you use a passphrase to encrypt your data, you should be able to use TrueCrypt on any other machine to decrypt it.
Quick edit Furthermore, TrueCrypt for Windows (at least) enables you to create a "Traveller disk". If you create an encrypted container on an external HDD (rather than using full disk encryption) then running the Traveller disk setup will copy over a portable version of TrueCrypt - allowing you to decrypt the container on Windows machines which don't have TrueCrypt installed.
Bonus edit I don't think I used the terms "encrypt" and "TrueCrypt" enough, so here are some more - encrypt, encrypt, encrypt, TrueCrypt, TrueCrypt, encrypt. Woo!
