Hi all,

anyone knows this kind of product?

http//www.firewiremax.com/sapomuesexbo.html

The SS-3176HUB 1-to-5 native SATA2 Port Multiplier is designed to provide a high performance link between a single SATA2 host port and 5 SATA device ports. It expands one upstream SATA2 port to 5 downstream SATA2 ports. With its unique data aggregation and 3Gbps serial link capacity, it supports 5 SATA or SATA2 devices

What do you think about it? )
Someone experience something like this?

Bye )

Just an update on this rather old topic. I've been experimenting with this for a while and found that the SATA port multipliers won't work in conjunction with a hardware forensic write-blocker. The write-blockers are already seen by the system as a port multiplier, but with only one of the channels used. It's not possible to "cascade" SATA port multipliers so this configuration won't work.

I'm still looking for a way to accomplish this but it looks like a dead end so far.
