I was just reading an article at msnbc.com ("Facial recognition leads to first wrongful U.S. arrests, activists say")  ... well, not unexpected as such, although I had the impression that it was more or less banned or at least severely restricted everywhere.  The last line had me reeling, though:

Microsoft Corp and Amazon.com Inc halted facial recognition sales to police this month following nationwide protests ...

Amazon? Does U.S. law enforcement by their face recognition technology from Amazon?
