I tried both tools, Belkasoft's one is simpler & and maybe a little faster, just for a quick profile backup. FFT certainly is more comprehensive with much better reporting features (which Belkaoft doesn't have much, IIRC). Both tools stand their place.
In the end I have found that most people (at least in my country) have totally restricted their privacy settings, so there is never much output in those cases, basically just a profile pic and a name. It's a rare occasion getting a case with a public profile.
I suppose the real strength of that tool comes when you have access to FB LE Portal, isn't.
Does anyone have a tool that can copy the Facebook profile of a GROUP (particularly photos and comments)?
Belkasoft support say their product doesn't have that capability and FFT doesn't seem to be able to do it either. This may be by design due to privacy concerns or maybe just because it's not a standard use-case.
I'm trying to help a community org move their content off FB and onto a dedicated website with more flexibility but requests to FB get no response.
Appreciate any suggestions on other tools/methods.
Good morning Mellow,
I've just seen your post - this is quite an interesting suggestion - and something I think could be useful to other users. I'm the developer of the FFT and will look into adding this as an option. If you want to connect with me, perhaps we can chat through some of the details and maybe you'd like to beta test the application once ready?

Ross @afentis
Hi Ross,
Being able to report on a Facebook group or page from a Trading Standards point of view would be a great tool. We're seeing more and more people trying to sell counterfeit items from pages or groups.

Gary
Hi Ross,
Really appreciate the response and more than happy to be a beta user.
Just let me know how to get in touch. The email address on your profile is jdavies so not sure if that's the best means of contact.
Many thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the replies. I am going to give FFT a whirl. This was not for an investigation. I wanted to save a friend who passed away's profile in case it was closed, etc. I am still friends with this person on FB so I have access to stuff shared with friends. I was hoping to find something that saved comments on a post as well. The Belkins program did an OK job, but did not get comments and for some reason doesn't include dates.
Sorry to dredge this one up, but has anybody had experience using this Facebook profile Toolkit? I have tried and it keeps copying my own information down, something not remotely necessary or useful. I am trying to capture the page, friends, etc of an individual's public profile.
Try Page-Vault.com for your purposes.
Regards,
Larry
Anyone know of anything better than Belkin's Facebook Profile Saver to archive a FB profile (someone else's) ? http//
forensic.belkasoft.com/en/facebook_profile_saver This works, but it doesn't include date/time on posts in finished product.
Hi, bbking13,
Actually, BFPS was discountinued after the changes in Facebook's API, and we no longer support the product, hence the limited functionality.
However, our Belkasoft Evidence Center supports Facebook Live RAM (can extract Facebook data from a Live RAM dump) and Facebook mobile apps. Why don't you go ahead and see if it can serve your purpose by testing a free fully functional trial version http//
Other than that, we know that X-1 is a good tool for social media forensics.
Thanks.
Danil,
