Configuration
WinXP Professional on a Dell 690 w/4GB RAM
Fastbloc2 FE
Tried attaching Fastblock via USB2 and also via Firewire 400
Symptom Windows buescreens about 10 seconds after power-on of Fastblock2 FE with attached Maxtor 120GB PATA drive.
Now here is the odd part If I attach a wiped (entire drive = 0's) Maxtor 120GB PATA drive to the Fastbloc2, no problem. If the exact same drive is loaded with the OS and encrypted with Utimaco, decrypted, and then plugged into the Fastbloc2, the PC bluescreen's. We have seen this with several drives. If the drive is wiped, no problem - we can open it up in Encase (attached via the Fastbloc2 FE) and see that the drive is all 0's. Once the same drive (with OS installed and encrypted via Utimaco) is decrypted and plugged back into the same Fastbloc on the same PC, we get the bluescreen.
Has anyone seen this? We have tried setting the jumper on the drive to CS, Master, and Slave to no effect. It seems to be data related… something with the Windows driver perhaps?
