Hi All,

I'm looking for a free tool that would allow me to search through a Windows 2008 storage server for files with certain keywords inside or namings, to then be copy/duplicated to an external drive. Preferably this tool should be easy to use and require little effect to the live server and isn't required to be of a "forensic" class.

Anyone have some suggestions?

Thanks,

Joel

I am not sure to understand what particular features you need.

This is normally a good thingy
http//www.nirsoft.net/utils/search_my_files.html

It allows for binary contents search and for multiple contents search.
The good thing is that it has a very good support for saving the results of the search(es) in many formats, handy to be post-processed to copy the files and it has - if needed - command line support.
