Dear All,

I am working on Wearable technologies specially smart watches like Apple, Samsung and Fitbit. Anyone know of some specific forensic tools used by law enforcement for forensic analysis of such wearable. Law enforcement use FTK, Encase or there are any special tools to deal with such technologies.

I can't recommend any specific tools, but Nicole Odom is probably a good person to get in touch with - she's done a lot of research on wearables recently, and she presented some of her findings at Techno Security MB this year.

Our practice just analyzed a FITBIT HR device.

The best source for the FITBIT data was logging into the FITBIT website and generating an account archive.

The FITBIT account archive data contained JSON files broken down by categories (Walking Distance, Heartrate, etc.).

We used Microsoft Excel to parse the JSON files.
