Hello all,

I am studying Digital Forensics, and am a third year. As im sure many of you are aware third years have to do a project. My project is essentially a study on Andriod, iOS and WP7 devices, from a forensics point of view using Open Source Software. I am, however, struggling to find some Open Source software to analyse a WP7 device. From what I understand, the WP7 OS has a very similar DNA to that of a Windows OS. However, like I said I need open source software.
Is anyone aware of any such software that could assist me?
Any help would be massively appreciated

Thank you

Chris

I don't know anything off the top of my head, but check this site out. If anyone would have anything for you, it would be them

Theres no open source forensic tool as such, You can get data from them but it requires developer unlocking and then using tools such as WP7 Root tools and plugins for it. The best phone to analyse would be one of the initial LG handsets, the optimus 7 or the quantum as they dont require a developer account to be able to do some of the more advanced stuff.

If youre a student get a dreamspark membership, might have to submit an application to process it, if you do just use an auto app creation website to speed the process along.

Id recommend reading into interop unlock and developer unlock and then checking out the windows phone hacker website.
