There are a number of 'preview' tools that you could use. I suspect that preview tools and incident response tools are very similar and in many cases would be used in the same way.

Drive Prophet was released this week. This software allows an investigator to check various settings and data on the computer before deciding what to do next.

Preview tools are good because they can allow the investigator to hit the ground running rather than start an invetigation from scratch.

On a side note I'm writing a firefox extension for this forum that searches for posts from 'u2bigman' and stops them from being displayed 😉 (kidding, please don't ban me)

…I'll be looking for you to keep things on topic and demonstrate more diplomacy in future.

If I were out of line, I apologize. Even if I were NOT out of line, I still apologize. No one should be disruptive.

But consider that my use of "off paper" was a bit of a straw man. To see if anyone (LE or not) would clarify. Sadly, no. BitHead's equating "on paper" to "registered" is, well, what would be a good analogy?

Maybe, what is the difference between an Aston Martin and a pair of earrings? Both can be constructed of alumin(i)um, hmm, that is about it. They serve two entirely different purposes, no overlap, chrystal clear to anyone who has ever seen a Bond movie.

Perhaps my inner turmoil– manifested on the board, to my regret– derives from what I have learned since my (contemplating an) entrance to the world of DF. In our limited research my partners and I have found (secret number of) cases which are by any definition, travesties. And in each, DF played a central role.

Anyway, do not wish to ruffle feathers. I will accept my time in the Sin Bin with dignity.

Again, I am a bit biased but, Nigilant32 and F-Response are both "Preview" tools.

How did I misrepresent or distort your position? def "Straw Man Fallacy" The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position.

You provided the term and definition.

Once a Registered Sex Offender is "off paper" (means has completed his parole or probation, no longer Under Supervision by the Court) his rights are restored.

Who was to know you were seeking some sort of clarification on what you regularly write about in what sounds like knowing terms.

Even in your attempt to show contrition you seem less than . . . sincere.

Shakes head in confusion.

In our limited research my partners and I have found (secret number of) cases which are by any definition, travesties. And in each, DF played a central role.

Then why not write about these? Right the wrong.

Hijacking someone elses thread, is a sure fired way of getting your point ignored. You clearly have a bee in your bonnet about your findings, either act on them in a completely non biased truthful way to clear the injustices or keep quiet.

Your inner turmoil serves no purpose here and benefits no one. Maybe you require a different forum where you can discuss such cases at length? The only reputation damaged thus far, is yours u2bigman.

OK. let's leave things there and move on. I think the OP has enough useful info and everyone else knows where they stand. Thread locked.
