Hi, im not sure if any of you can help but im struggling to find any information on what forensic strategies are and how they are put into place when conducting an investigation. Im basically trying to find out how Crime scene investigators and Computer analysts work together. Any guidance would be really helpful Thanks Kate
Can you be a little more specific? Are you looking for information on how two departments might work together on a case, or are you looking for forensic methodology information?
If methodology is what you are looking for, the internet is chock full of them, though I tend to prefer Andrew Rosen's 6 A's…

It sounds like a student type question. (
Hello Kate
Do you think perhaps the question about forensic strategies means looking at various elements? Such as
- What type of crime would need forensic strategies major crime vis-a-vis ASBO crime - do you think ASBO crime would need that type of resource?
- What about working strategies between SOCO and maybe other departments like TSU/HTCU - should there be one or are SOCO and TSU/HTCU one and the same?
- Search Strategy - would the strategy in searching a property be the same for the search of a person etc etc?
- Evidence Collection/Seizure Strategy?
- Examination Strategy?
- etc
- etc
When you have identified the areas you think Strategies may need to exist why not go to your local Police Station and ask there so that you make sure that your list of strategies are
Available?
Achievable?
Cost effective?
hope these help, just some ideas… what do you think?
Thanks for your ideas they all really helped

It's getting old seeing all the posts of "students" wanting us to give them the answers for their paper.
If they are posted in Training & Education, and they say up front they are a student, I don't particularly mind helping. Won't do their homework, but I'll either give a hint what the instructor wants or where the student can research it. It's the posts that are mis-posted, show no prior research, and aren't up front that bother me. YMMV.
