I have searched the forums in regards to forensics in Michigan and found quite a few hits but nothing covering these specific questions below.

1. Is it legal to work under a current attorney's umbrella that has a PI in Michigan if your a certified examiner?
2. Is it legal to be contracted or hired directly by a corporation to perform a case?

Caveat-IANAL- however my understanding is 1. YES, 2. NO.

I think THIS link to Scott Moulton's website should get you started.

There is also THIS from SANS.

Forensic Magazine.

Thanks for posting those articles.

Interesting to say the least!

Let me know if you stumble across any information that states you can perform forensics if working under an attorneys PI umbrella!

Not sure I understand a certified examiner.

No on the corporation question.

But as most of us in the business have had to do you would do well to drop a few thousand on counsel who can look into these things for you.
