I am trying to see how digital forensics can help validate or authenticate goods.

If you are law enforcement, you are more likely to get a useful response from the manufacturers of said goods for (some of) the 'official 'ways of identifying counterfeits. (Or, in some cases, you may even need to ask if they have partners who do this kind of job already.)

If those ways include anything that can be validated using forensic tools, and you are free to tell tool manufacturers about it (which I somewhat doubt), you then have a better foundation for contacting them with specific questions. Such as "Can your software do extract X, Y and Z, compare it with a list of 'correct' values, and report if they match or not? Or does it require special development to do so?"

I see very little reason for striking out on your own and hoping to find DF indications that the manufacturer somehow left there, but won't tell you about. You want authorized indicators, and validated methods for obtaining those indicators.

I have requested trial software from magnet black bag and a couple of other companies but get not answer.
Any suggestions?

Make sure you follow the suggestions for contact that the companies themselves make. If they prefer you to go through a local sales representative, for example, don't try to take a shortcut.
