I believe that at least the file format used in Safeback v2 should not be too difficult to understand, if you have a few samples.

Doesn't have any safeback images to analyse.
Thanks for your efforts to help.
Well, then I am not sure to have understood why you wanted the program, that, good as it might have been nowadays is a bit dated.
You may want to try contacting the original Author, which is Sydex

It is very likely that Chuck Guzis is still around and he was probably the actual Author, and judging from the way he interacted with the good retroechnology guys, he seems like a really nice chap )

Though the tool was sold many years ago to NTI (or Armor or Breakwater Technology) it is possible that he has some contacts and/or can help with your research.

I asked for the program to create some images and analyse the format of the disk image.

I understand that ) , I was wondering about the reason why one would want to get an outdated program not used anymore since years (and that has a number of limitations for today's use) in order to analyze the proprietary format of the images it produces (which as said I believe being not particularly sophisticated/innovative/whatever).
If you had to read data from some images recorded on some obscure media found in a tomb 😯 it could be a form of "digital archeology", if you want to recreate the environment in which a digital forensic investigator worked circa 2000 it would be "digital functional archeology" (you know like those scientist that re-build Roman streets using the same tools, materials and technologies available at the time), etc.

If you do find a copy somewhere, please post.

At the time I heard about SafeBack, I didn't know whether it is obsolete. I searched about it and found so..asked here to confirm..
