I guess that finding a way to put "in parallel" another battery pack, then remove the original battery and disconnect/reconnect the "external" batttery through a timed switch/relais would be a neat improvement, at the moment one would need to exercise over and over to get the necessary swift movement and the right timing.

I read about this on BBC news this morning, almost want to freeze my phone just to give it a go.

Supposedly, a similar trick might work with RAM chips used in PC's.
