FTK 1.8 (or 2.1) Custom Carving

Hello everyone, i'm playing a bit with some exercises and forensics games during this period (not much work and i need to keep myself trained) and i'm having a little problem with FTK (i'm experimenting with both 1.8 and 2.1)

is there a way to specify custom headers/footers for the carving engine to search for specific file types?

in the carving window of FTK 1.8 only some predefined file types are available, and if the header i'm looking for isn't available here i can't find a way to add a custom one.

also in FTK 2.1 i can't even find a carving dialog box or something related to carving.

many ppl will say RTFM )
i'm ready for this, but a small hint would be really apreciated 😉
