I'm off till Wednesday, so I'll call them back then. Don't recall the file size off the top of my head, but it was pretty big.
Just to see what would happen, I went ahead and recovered others of the same type of file that had been auto deleted. They worked just fine, but this one and a couple others insisted on a password.
I'll let you guys know when I talk to tech support. You have to get a certain tech there to get good info about stuff like this, so I'm hoping I can speak to him when I call.
Thanks!
KP
I realize it's not likely, but there is another potential area for corruption that hasn't been mentioned. During the transmission from car to storage via wireless, if the protocol used isn't an "Error Free" protocol, corruption can be induced in any number of ways. If it's a TCP/IP based protocol it isn't theoretically possible to have errors on the receiving end, but I have seen it happen.
I'd pursue this option if all of the other one's aren't found to be the cause.
Thanks for the info Jerry. The file had been viewed prior to its deletion, so it was ok up until that point. I'm putting some new rules in effect to insure this won't happen again (hopefully).
