hello everybody, i have a simple question about the FTK license
i have bought FTK 2.0 last year (july 2008) and i was provided with a wibu dongle for the license,
the question is.. it says something about license expiration in july 2009..
is it referring to the chance to update to newest versions or that means that i won't be able to use my actually purchased license after the 31 july?
couse honestly.. 3.000$ for a one year license looks pretty a scum to me )
Readers Digest version The license entitles you to upgrades and support for the most currently released versions during the license period. Unless something has changed, FTK will continue to function after license expiration.
oh.. nice thnx very much.. i was almost fainting to the idea of spending more bucks during this period. since it's not going pretty good lately to me ) it's always getting harder and harder to be payed for your job without performing exhausting "polling" to your "customers"… D
You aren't paying $3000 a year. The support contract portion is I think $850 per year.
Understand that if you let your support contract lapse, when you go to renew it, you'll have to back pay for the months it was lapsed as well as paying for the next year. FTK2 is still in many ways a work in progress, and you're probably going to miss out on a lot without those updates.
That said, yeah, you can keep using FTK after the support contract - which is what the date on the dongle refers to - is out of date.
