Hi,

Google Chrome stored a textual index of web pages in a file named History Index YYYY-MM
(obviously with the appropriate YYYY-MM). This file does not appear to exist in version 30 albeit that a user can still search their history content.

Please can anyone advise what this file has been replaced with?

Regards,

Richard

Hi Richard,

I've just started working on parts of Chrome/Chromium at the moment. You might want to contact me.

I don't have an answer to your question because it was something I was about to check out myself. I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know but, my starting point would be to look at the SQLite3 databases 'History' and 'Archived History'.

An interesting thing about these browsers is the ability for each user (in Windows/ Linux or Mac) to have different Chrom(e)(ium) profiles. Don't just look under 'Default' but have a look under 'Profile 1', 'Profile 2' and so on too.

Regards,

Not sure if I fully understand, but maybe this is of use to you. And this.

I've tested both methods and the time stamps and dating formats are accurate!
