I need a free GPS tool that will work for both TomTom and Garmin.
Paraben Device Seizure(Trial Version) does not give full functionality.
Blackthorn2 is in the process of releasing a newer version, so no trial downloads for now.
Any Idea of other open source or trial tools that I can use?

Thanks

Hi Chioma what is it that you require the tool to do?

EnCase, FTK, Paraben and other tools all image TomTom and Garmin devices. However, you sometimes have to use diffreent write blockers and on rare occassions image without a write blocker. Experimentation will show you that very few files change when a SatNav is turned on and imaged without a write blocker. Last time I tried this with a TomTom only 3 files changed, With a top spec Garmin 7 changed.

TomTology is the best tool for examining TomToms but costs about £250.

Garmins save data in a gpx file. These can be viewed in text, converted to spreadsheeets and the data can be examined in Yahoo Maps, Google Earth or any other mapping software.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes Simon Davies

Simon has mentioned most, perhaps FTK might be a place to start. Also £250 for TomTology is very good value considering developers need to get paid.

Assuming you want the GPS tool for analysis ?

PoiEdit is a shareware program, managing all places of interest (POI)… also with a "map view".

Good luck.
