Please don't make it LE only! You would be cutting your source of knowledge by 75% for starters.
Just to clarify, I was referring to an additional forum, not a change of policy with regard to those already in existence.

We are well off topic now chaps! I also agree about LE only. I think that can hugely limit the knowledge base and also different points of view. I'm non-LE but also on DD and have to work the same cases as LE, the issues are broadly the same. At least with DD it is basically filtered through F3. How many acronyms is that in one sentence!
Of course these solutions are UK/Europe centric, not much good for our friends in the USA.
If you did have a protected forum Jamie I'm just not sure how you would filter the membership? Just because I've posted 100 times doesn't mean I'm not a weirdo! In fact probably makes me more of a weirdo, need to get a life!!
Although, I guess a small panel of regular users who monitor a users posts for a few months would quickly weed out the professional from the 'keen amateur'. It could then be invite only or proof of LE status. Just a thought. Not sure if its needed though. I enjoy the technical aspects of the forum and dont need to discuss matters of a more delicate nature here.

Sorry for the late reply, but i did manage to get a week holiday -)
I didn't think that exploring the definition of a crime had to be kept on a LE forum.
However, I do tend to forget that forensicfocus is an open forum.
I guess that if we want to post something sensitive, we can do it on digital detective…

Hope that you had a good holiday? Please don’t take my comments as a criticism of you in any way. Just that when you have been in this game long enough, and you may have more experience than me, you come across guys that 'like' to read this sort of stuff, the more explicit the better.
It was just a personal thought that perhaps this wasn’t the place to become too overt in discussions involving the minutiae of illegal images.
