I've been following this via the media and was interested re the use of e-mails as evidence. I'm curious as to the powers of the enquiry re obtaining full data and whether the data has been captured as per UK criminal procedures. No pro connection with the enquiry, just curious.

The Phase 1 report is (IMHO) exceptionally clearly written, direct and void of unneeded technicisms while providing enough details for the technocal oriented.

I think the question was more "how was the data collected".
It seems that the data was collected by the MPS, as per:
and:
so, presumably, since it was collected by the Police, it was collected according to their "normal" procedures, i.e. conforming with UK criminal Law.

From the PM:
I am announcing today the appointment of Sir Martin Moore-Bick to head the Public Inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire. The Inquiry will be established under the 2005 Inquiries Act, with full powers, including the power to compel the production of documents, and to summon witnesses to give evidence on oath. The Inquiry will be held in public.
Relevant section of legislation: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2005/12/section/21
Thanks for pointing that out.
I assume you will be doing the same in future....
Doing the same what?
