I was wondering if anyone out there received the request listed below.

Several people I have talked to received this request and I am interested if others here have received it. (you can feel free to backchannel)
Thanks
I haven't seen it. What's your concern? The request appears to be fairly straightforward.
I haven't received that particular request, however I did receive two email solicitations for bids last week that came from unknown entities. The email addresses they gave for reply were hotmail and aol addresses.
I didn't reply. Something just didn't feel valid about them. Had this nagging suspicion someone was trying to get a handle on what CF pro's charge, and I never give quotes via email anyway.
Bill
The request was so large, 36 hard drives. I would say any quote under 20k would not be that realistic.
Also in some of the emails only a portion of the drives were mentioned but the same dates and same location was mentioned. Other emails all drives were mentioned as well as needing investigation on those images.
The person who emailed it said he was a noob to the field but he had to realize with investigation on all those drives that he could easily be in the 100k range.
seems like an odd way to look for assistance.
If you go around looking for bargain basement prices on CF work, you will get bargain basement work.
It's possible they're just trying to figure out their budget for the project too. Hopefully they'll understand the value of quality, experience, etc.
Yep, highly possible.
