HDD Not reading / Bad Sectors?

Oh yeah, I can fully understand its justification if you could make your money back on it in cases / money. For myself who is just trying to start my own little data recovery company (while still looking for full time forensic work 😉 ) its out of my range, but the number of flamin clicky hard drives I've seen in my time, it would be the perfect tool!

I currently have my best mate panicking over his, not too old WD Rapture thats riddled with bad sectors and he tried the DrDD on it and it said it was just beyond repair, but there is loads of stuff on it he needs. (and when I say he tried the DrDD on it, thats because he's a computer engineer and wants to try all this stuff himself, before asking for help!… damn computer nerds!) )
So I've not taken a look at it, but I trust his knowledge and 15+ years computer experience to assume what the software is telling him is correct, so other than maybe throwing it at FTK or Helix I'd say the results could be the same!
