Hi,
I have many years IT/programming experience and a law degree. I'm in the process of
evaluating forensics software tools and getting relevant certifications that will allow me
to start taking on civil computer forensics cases early next year.
I'm looking for a partner with strong PC repair, data recovery and networking skills here in the south
bay. It would be helpful if you already have a shop but not mandatory. Must be well disciplined and
able to carefully document procedures. Must also be willing to obtain CCE certification,
see http//
expert witness (not as bad as it sounds).

Greetings,
Where would you suggest that the author post such an ad? CL has very good geographic targeting capabilities that are lacking in other services. And the author isn't seeking someone to hire, so Dice, Monster, and the like might not be appropriate.
I found a very good long term forensics client through a Craigslist ad. I've seen a lot of Bay Area success stories start on CL. Bear in mind that CL in northern California may have a different clientele than elsewhere in the country. I regularly used it when I was living out there and found the quality of the leads and connections to be fairly good.
The author of the ad doesn't seem to understand that offering computer forensics services requires more experience that he seems to have or is seeking, but that would be true on Monster, CL, or Dice.

I guess I would suggest normal media, phone book, legal journals, website, etc.
Do you know how craigslist got started? If you do then you know the in court battles over sex and listings.
If you are doing well in business you surely wouldn't advertise on CL, but I know someone really close to where I am who has ad's on there and the attorneys I deal with think it is rather funny. You have to look at it in a contextual manner. A profession which seeks to be accepted in the scientific community, and a post on craigslist for a partner.
I'm not sure that I follow what the issue is…are you saying that someone's not credible simply because they post what amounts to a job listing on CraigsList?
The listing itself sounds like many that you can find in other locations.
If you were in a brothel and you found a listing for a computer forensic examiner would you hire him?
Why or Why not?
It has to do with placement, and how something is perceived. I mean perception is a huge part of our business. Image is a lot. Based on what the majority of the world knows craigslist for, then that is the basis for the post.
There are also forensic examiners advertising their services on there. Do you think the big four would advertise there? Would you trust your life's defense to someone who (probably by posting) doesn't have much work and is looking to get more, and by that might not have as much experience.
As with any post YMMV TWGOS
Greetings,
CL in many major cities is used for a lot more than prostitution. In the SF Bay Area it is a legitimate business tool for jobs, networking, and selling or buying equipment. When I first moved to Illinois I regularly read the jobs section of CL and found postings from major reputable corporations.
I guarantee that many CL users in the SF Bay Area either aren't aware of the escort services issues or just ignore it.
