I asked myself throughout the entirety of my statistics class.

It makes you a smarter, more well rounded person, but it won't be nearly as important as SO many other classes you'll take.

The only real application I've found thus far is calculating the odds of two md5 hashes colliding naturally, and then comparing it to various other things. I made a whole .png file with it during my computer forensics class.

Fun Fact There are more MD5 possibilities than there is atoms in every person in America.

I declined to do the same for SHA-512.
