How common is it for people to have no HD in their computer and boot everything from a live CD/DVD?
With this kind of setup are there any potential evidence sources?

i have seen a lot of from criminal cases
only you can do acquire live memory image
even laptop or desktop powered off you can find evidence from memory but if desktop disconnected from electriciy and laptop disconnected from battery you cannot find evidence
