How to pre-calculate the disk's image size

I have to create an image of SAN of size 3TB, but before doing this, I need to tell the client about the size of disk required on which I will make the image of the disk.

Approximately, I would say that 1, 2 and 3 Tb disks are too small and that 4, 5 and 6 Tb disks are big enough.

That is if the source SAN (are you sure it is a SAN and not a NAS? ? )

has a single disk or you want to consolidate a multi-disk (RAID or JBOD or *whatever else*) into a monolithic one.
