Hello,

I'm having a little trouble finding a separate program (low level if possible) to run a checksum on an external USB drive partition - to be sure it's clean at logical level. I have a copy of a program simply called "Checksum" DOS level, but it brings up a BIOS error. I don't really care what OS, XP or DOS is fine. Any suggestions on other programs/methods?

Thanks,
Mike

Winhex will do this, but I'm not sure how the result will show you that the partition is "clean"?

Why not simply use your forensic tool to do a search for non-zero values (assuming you define clean as being zeroed out)?

Try removing the drive from the enclosure then connecting directly via ide/sata.
