Hello. I've got an unlocked Huawei Y6 2018, model ATU-L21, running Android 8.0.0 on my table for me to extract data from, and I'm stuck.
I mainly work with UFED and XRY and I've tried using the profiles I could think off and so far nothing works. My experience with other programs is limited, but I relish a chance to learn something new. I don't do chip-offs though.
From some googling it seems the chipset is Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425, but I can't find any generic support for that in either of the tools I am using.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there other profiles in either of the tools at my disposal that works? Anything at all?
I'm grateful if someone can nudge me in the right direction here.
Have you got the very latest version of UFED?
I'm sure I got an email from them in last day or so with new version and increased capability for Huwaei phones.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into updating and I'll let you know how it goes.
Indeed the latest version of UFED (7.8) has a profile for the exact model I have in this case.
Unfortunately I can't get the extraction to work as per the instructions in UFED. I'll reach out to their support I guess.
All in all, great that the model in question is now supported and that there's greater support for Huawei phones. Terrible documentation on the other hand.
UPDATE!
The friendly support at Cellebrite suggested I switched to MIDI input instead of file transfer. This worked for me.
I was also recommended to try the generic EDL profile "Decrypting Qualcomm" with EDL cable 523, since newer Huawei models seem to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset more frequently. I did not get this to work unfortunately. If anyone manages to get it working I'd be interested in a step by step.
