Good Afternoon,

I have just finished University where I studied Forensic Computing. I am currently job searching which unfortunately I am having no luck. However, I have decided that during the time of finding a job I would like to undertake a project.

For my University dissertation I investigated how a TomTom navigational device stores the location records that have been entered by a user. From the findings I created a triage tool that extracts the location records of a TomTom navigational device and decodes the values and shows them on a map. This was very successful and I would like to create something similar but with more value to the forensic industry.

I'm struggling for ideas that would be good for me to further my knowledge in the industry and also give something back to the industry. Please could anyone recommend any suitable ideas?

I did think about creating a parent monitor program which could look at Facebook chat etc

Thanks for spending your time reading this.

May I ask ? successful where/for whom?

I mean, did that thing become a Commercial tool? (successful=big number of copies sold)
Or was it released as Open Source? (successful=big number of downloads)
Or never left the sancta sanctorum of the uni lab? (successful=passing tests in the lab)
