Thanks but the hard drive doesnt work.

Try looking up the warranty for the serial number on various drive manufacturers websites. e.g. WD, Seagate

Following consolidation in the industry, there really aren't very many volume drive manufacturers left, so this shouldn't take very long.

1- HDD/PCB from outside can judge if its WD, Seagate, Hitachi….etc
2- HDD from inside (cover removed inside clean-room only) from the # of platters can narrow its capacity
3- ROM/NVRAM chip (located in PCB) can extract (sometimes) the Model & SN for some models

Just replacing parts will not normally make a failed drive work. Board swapping very rarely works on modern drives. You need to contact a specialist repair company.

To be fair NO disk drive manufactured in the last 15 years or so can accept simple board swapping BUT transplanting the Eprom/flash (where the adaptive data are stored) can be done with no more than a good soldering iron and a steady hand, no need of fancy tools, not of paticularly complex knowledge, point is that before attempting a swap it must be determined if the issue is related to the PCB or not.

Hello, you can find out the manufacturer by the serial number you have. If you attach a photo, then I can tell you the manufacturer of HDD. For what reasons did the hard drive stop working? Have you tried data recovery software like Rekuva or Partition Recovery? If you do not have experience in hard drive repair, then it is better to entrust the repair to a professional.
