Does anyone know of some good software for exif scans on videos? Specifically Avi's formats.

I need to figure out the source of a particular avi.

I use opanda exif for images, but it doesn't work too well for movies.

Regards
L

There is no provision for EXIF in video. It is supported in JPEG, TIFF - Rev. 6.0, and RIFF WAV (not supported in JPEG 2000, PNG, or GIF).

There are some programs that will give you more info about AVI (or other multimedia files) but not really the device that created the file.

GSpot (works in many formats) and AVICodec are good, but I think abcAVI available HERE gives the most info about an AVI.

From Microsoft
AVI RIFF File Reference - http//msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd318189(VS.85).aspx
DV Data in the AVI File Format - http//msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd388641(VS.85).aspx

I have tried that tool on several AVIs, but never got it to output much info. Certainly nothing like the information retrieved from an image file.
