@Jonathan,

You made my morning by posting that. In no way shape or form does my username damage my integrity, you might want to look up the definition of the word…but since I'm a nice guy..here you go.. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.

After your post, I would definitely question your professionalism. You post a comment that has nothing to do with the topic, you definitely had a negative demeanor when posting that comment.

And my favorite point to make. Before I joined this site, I was told a lot of people will talk down to you or make you feel dumb for asking certain questions. I was given a couple screen names of the people not to interact with…and what do you know, you made the list! So what do you think that says about your integrity and professionalism? I'll help you out, it's not good.

Along with professionalism and integrity, I've found that the ability to accept well-intended criticism without flying off the handle is also pretty important in CF/eD.

I'm still very interested to see when Mr. Fankees posts a case study…

No, sorry, I've checked the OED, that's not what yuckthefankees means.

I'm thinking of changing my name as well, to something based on the nickname of Leicester Football Club. If that doesn't work, Bury Town.
twisted

Who else was on the list ?

Using my tremendous powers of deduction, this is the chain of events as I see them

- User tries to register on FF to create a thread about why he wants to make another FF
- User's name is "Jonathan" - tries to register that name, but it is sadly taken
- User's cat walks across the keyboard, spelling the word "yuckthefankees"
- User accidentally clicks "Accept"
- User is totally unaware of what "yuckthefankees" might signify until it is pointed out to him by kindly users of FF
- Shenanigans ensue

Did I get it right? I can produce a diagram if you think it might aid the jury.

Merely to echo what has already been said about DF/eD sites A plethora of sites is not necessary, but rather few sites which combine content with credibility - both of which are brought on by the sites' users. FF clearly provides both these given the quality of the content and the calibre of professionals who provide it.

As far as usernames go, I immediately switched the y and the f upon seeing the OP's - regardless of what "other" meaning one might find on the net, it is the meaning that the "reasonable person" assumes that counts.

Most people did that also, it's the way our brains work and I'm pretty sure OP knew that.

I'm sorry you guys feel that way about my s/n (believe me I mean no disrespect at all)…I looked over the forum for about 20 seconds and found hexdrugsrocknroll, drugfish, and hitman. I dont believe there was an issue with the word drugs in a s/n or even a s/n referring to a person hired to kill another person..but hey I get it. Best wishes to everyone.

I'm very sorry to see that this thread has gone the way that it has. I was really hoping to get some input from the OP regarding content, particularly to see if they had any case studies that they themselves could offer up.

Overall, I think that the original topic of the thread was viable.

I have to say case studies as well, I'm new to computer forensics as well and I really believe that hearing about other individual's experiences would give me a better idea of what happens in the workforce. I also think that it would be great to have more information of the types of jobs an individual majoring in computer forensics can get, I have spent the last two years at my college taking forensics courses with an advisor who thinks she is the smartest person in the world but who in reality is the least helpful and experienced person in the area of COMPUTER forensic science !
