Is anyone aware of a COTS product which will compare disk_image_1 with disk_image_2 and produce a summary of all file(s) which are different/the same with their associated md5 values.
I would like this to come out in a html / csv output style report.

Ideally it would be something like a diff program
Files the same md5 = xyz , abc.csv
Files not the same md5 = xyz , abc.csv
Files same but different time stamps = xyz , abc.csv

I would prefer to use a COTS product than writing some scripts to do this. I realise I can do this with EnCase, but I wondered if there was a purpose built tool for which would be much quicker.
Many thanks
Matt

Commercial Orbital Transportation Services ?

Boy, do I hate acronyms !

You could have a look at Synchronization utilities, some (example)

http//www.cockos.com/pathsync/
allow for "analyse" before doing the actual synchronization

Hi Jaclaz

Sorry for the acronym. Thanks for the suggestions I will give them a try, I found the software OSForensics which may also be suitable

Many thanks for the response

After the image is mounted I think Ultra Compare may do what you want as well.

I haven't used it for whole disc comparisons, just on smaller data sets but I seem to remember it was quite good. Very cheap too from memory.
