Hi there,
can anyone tell me how many min. it will take to capture a 10GB H/D using FTK imager?
it is an ide 7200rpm, my system is intel D.C with 2GB ram & the destination drive is my primary HD which is 500GB SATA
tks
I would think the speed is more dependent on the drives than the software.
7200RPM drives have been around for a long time. Seagate is first to market with a 7200 rpm hard drive, the 2.1GB Barracuda in 1992.
If the drive is really only IDE 10GB, then it is probably from around 1999? You might be lucky if it works at all.
For example a Maxtor 2B010H1 (10GB) from the year 2000 did about 20MB/sec.
So you are looking at about 10min for the whole 10GB.
20-25 mins (no way you image it AND verify in 10 mins)
He didn't say verify, but I can't imagine anyone imaging and not verifying, unless there were some special circumstances.
Assuming no errors I'd estimate around 10 minutes for the imaging, too.
Verification shouldn't take more than a few minutes, as your destination drive will sustain a much higher read rate.
thanks guys , yah it took 17 min!
