I am doing an internet history case.
Looking at the Index.dat files, I have a bunch of images, but when I trace them to the pages they came from (searching for the filenames against the cached pages), I can't find the page.
It's just for a few domains to. Out of six domains, only like two are missing their cached pages. They are all from the same time period (and well within the default 21 days).
Similarly, after making a super timeline, I am seeing the images being viewed and saved, but not the page.
These are porn sites, so I doubt they are too sophisticated in their coding.
So, what might cause this lack of data?
Any help would be appreciated.
Are these possibly LEAKs?
I don't think so. I did searches within index.dat files for the URL, as I recall, LEAKs will list the URL as well.
