IOS 14 - Photodata\Metadata Folder

Hi All,

It is my understanding that the Photodata folder (private\var\mobile\Media\PhotoData) on an iPhone relates to images that have been synced with the cloud or a computer. I have recently found images of interest within private\var\mobile\Media\PhotoData\Metadata\DCIM\100APPLE.

I have found information that private\var\mobile\Media\PhotoData\Metadata\PhotoData\CPLAssets contains thumbnails for images synced with iCloud however I am unsure about the DCIM\100APPLE folder.

Does anyone know how images end up being placed there? Could it be to do with a manual cable sync to a computer? (private\var\mobile\Media\PhotoData\Metadata\DCIM\100APPLE)
