Which opens a new avenue for research, did jaclaz remove the first or the second "P"?
And how much did entropy increase (or decrease) by this removal?<snip>
jaclaz
Definitely the second "P".
Not sure on the entropy; I must have left my calculator in my other pants.
Definitely the second "P".
Good answer ) , but unfortunately wrong ( , I am pretty sure I removed the first one, operating an undetectable capital initials shift (UCIS).
And the answer (to the other question by trewmte) is obviously 42.
jaclaz
Whoa there Jaclaz, did you salt the UCIS?
Definitely the second "P".

Naaah, I used a custom made RNG, loosely based on this one
https://
but unfortunately I cannot share its source code, as it contains some complex, proprietary, routines.

to know your age
to know your age
Very good answer ) .
But I think it was originally asked to allow to correctly evaluate the condition in this sentence by Tinybrain
If you are young like me and maybe a junior or beginner in forensics, take your chance.
To verify if the first IF condition is true (or false) one needs to know Tinybrain's age.
jaclaz
I am 52 although nobody asked.
I have worked in computer forensics and electric discovery since 1998.
I tell people that my job security is “people doing stupid things”.
I am going to offer for publication here at FF my new Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) class titled “Employee turnover and forensic analysis best practices”.
In one of my class’ War Stories I relate how Forensic Explorer was able to carve Microsoft OST files from a former employee’s workstation forensic image.
The former employee had turned in his company issued phone in a factory reset state.
However, the Forensic Explorer carved OST files contained “SMS and ChatSync” folders, which of course contained messages from the factory reset phone.
It appears that as long as forensic practitioners fund forensic software companies, we will find a way to get to the evidence we need as a professional field.
