Does anyone have a solution for a Iphone 1,2 3g (A1241) with a build tag of 889.24, (4.0). This handset is locked, wish to bypass. Recovered build tag using irecovery.

Are you law enforcement? If so, go to www.iphoneinsecurity.com (JZ tools). Also, I have not used it, but I have heard that IXAM ( http//www.ixam-forensics.com/index.asp ) is good, I have it on order.

beasleyjt, If you could post a quick review when you get hold of IXAM, that would be great.

Jekyll, will do. I do work with someone that uses iXAM for his "other" job, and he says it works very well. He is the one who suggested I get it.

This is a quote from thier sales team

"iXAM is priced at GBP 1725.00, including the first year’s upgrades/support (a 15% fee in subsequent years)"

OK… I'm all for people getting a reasonable return on developing software and don't mind paying, but I have a bit of a problem with this one. This software is built around one company that has a very strong possibility of rendering the main feature far less useful.

At any moment Apple could do an update to fix the poor encryption implementation they are getting bashed over the head about and bang…. there is GBP 1725 down the toilet… well not completely, if you have the passcode you might still be alright but thats an unknown.

This is an accepted problem, its just hard to swallow that sort of money for a solution where the clock is ticking and you know that as soon as there is an update to IOS, 99% of active iDevices out there will recieve it.

I think the security issues for business are going to encourage apple to fix this maybe within the next 6-12 months.

Did Apple not better their encryption implementation with IOS4? The likes of IXAM, XRY and others are actually unable to recover deleted data from handsets running IOS4 as a direct result of Apple's improved encryption implementation.

Actually, since iOS 4.x update from Apple, XRY (5.X) has been able to get more information from an unjailbroken device than ever before. They are getting information from the applications like contacts/favorites and location data.

As for the other tools, i am still clueless until I get my test iPhone 4/3GS and programs (iXAM) in. At the moment, I only have the ORIGINAL iPhone that has NEVER been updated.
