Question for you guys.
Trying to acquire an iPhone 3 and when you hit the home button it says in red "iPhone disabled connect to iTunes".
My understanding is that screen means there has been a factory reset, is that correct?
Everything I've tried to acquire it with produce temp data folders with 1 binary file in each one.
Thanks y'all.
It would appear that there have been incorrect passcode attempts, past the allowable number. The phone then locks and requires you to connect it to iTunes to unlock it. If you haven't backed the phone up, you will need to do a factory reset to access the phone again but you will lose your data.
I use CelleBrite which will allow you to extract the data before it is reset. At least you will have a hard copy of the data.
Hope that helps
Hmmm, OK. I wonder why it would have been given to me with bad passcode attempts when the other side made good images, and they as I don't possess CelleBrite.
Are you 100% sure about your info, and if so any other suggestions?

The only reason I was able to comment was because I have had exactly the same problem as you. I could not access the phone with Oxygen, Paraben Device Seizure or FTK MPE plus. CelleBrite did a complete physical extraction after I contacted the CelleBrite support desk. They explained what had occured and the reason why.
Do you know if it had a passcode.
On the phone I had the same problem with, CelleBrite revealed the passcode and then completed an entire physical extraction. I recovered, out of a total of 4500 odd text messages, just over 1000 texts which contained the relevant texts.
If you were here in New Zealand I would quite happily do the extraction for you, but I think you may be a bit far away.
Maybe you know someone near you has a CelleBrite UFED Ulitimate.
