I have seized an iphone(it seems like a chinese clone) in the course of a criminal investigation, and I want to extract location history from the gps/gis location apps on the phone. Can anyone who have had similar experience please assist/guide me on how to go about it! M very new to this iphone forensics stuff!
I cant help you too much on the iPhone stuff, but if its a chinese clone as you suspect, your approach will be completely different to that of an iPhone. The hardware and software will be nothing like an iPhone, except in appearance.
There are forensic products (XRY, cellebrite, etc) that have support for some chinese clones, but there are so many of them that you might need to do it all yourself….
Have you managed to connect it to a pc? The first problem with clones is the cables are usually non standard (even if it looks like a micro usb, etc)
If it is an iPhone, if you can, use products like xry and cellebrite to get the data from the device and start looking! They may even decode the data you are after )
